Our journey started with reclaiming old technology to make a modern, 21st-century data center in Royal Oak, MI — the heart of SE Michigan’s Automation Alley. The 21,000 sq. ft. facility was converted from an abandoned tool and die shop and remodeled to meet the expectations large enterprises, in terms of convenience and value. Liberty provides secure, scalable, and resilient colocation and managed services to customers in a wide range of industries such as manufacturing, logistics, banking, financial services, eCommerce, health care management, and content management delivery.
Our data centers are carrier neutral, and our carrier hotels provide connectivity options from a wide range of international, national and local provider networks.

Our state-of-the-art data center facilities are secure and compliant by design, providing you with the infrastructure you need to run your mission-critical data and applications safely and reliably.
Compliance
Liberty understands the importance of internal controls and process management. We design and review our processes and procedures to align with the policies set up by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) for enterprise level data centers. Each Liberty datacenter undergoes regular 3rd party audits in accordance with SSAE-16 SOC1 and SOC2 compliance standards, in addition to maintaining design and control practices that adhere to ISO, HIPAA and PCI compliance.

High Availability
Our main objective is to provide continuous availability of IT services in the face of any disaster or incident. Liberty meets or exceeds the continuous availability targets for Tier 3 data centers, providing superior facility, power, and network uptime. Some of the features built into the facility that maintain uptime include:
- Isolated A and B side UPS with diverse path power routing to customer racks
- N+N backup generator capacity
- Diverse fiber building entrances
- Core and edge router functions separated into different Juniper routers

Power
Most commercial colocation facilities are constrained by both power availability and environmental systems to only deliver a maximum of 3-4 kW per rack. Liberty delivers a dense power environment with customers deploying as much as 20 kW per rack. Rackspace is reduced and customers get more for their money.

Our Environment is managed to ASHRAE standards with intelligent monitoring and controls 24x7
- Highly efficient multiple in-room Computer Room Air Conditioners with variable-speed fans. Multiple temperature and humidity monitors throughout all data halls
- Free-cooling economization system cuts overall cooling power consumption by 1/3
- Cooling efficiency boosted by cold aisle containment, digital teaming of air handlers and pinpoint air controls
Fire Protection
We made a major investment in the life safety features of the data center by deploying an inert gas fire suppression system instead of the typical water-based systems used in many data centers.
- Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus (VESDA) system; sampling air in parts per million
- Clean agent fire suppression in a full flood deployment
- Isolated EPOs only accessible by life safety personnel
