Director of Network Infrastructure Services

Director of Network Infrastructure Services

Liberty Center One (LCO) is seeking a proven technology leader to serve as Director of Network Infrastructure Services — responsible for the strategy, design, and operational excellence of our multi-datacenter network environment. This role will lead our Network Operations team to deliver high availability, scalability, and security for mission-critical cloud and hosting services across multiple regions.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in enterprise and service provider networking with strong leadership, communication, and process management skills. You will oversee the full lifecycle of network infrastructure — from architecture and capacity planning to security, compliance, and day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor the Network Infrastructure and Operations teams across multiple datacenters.
  • Own the architecture, configuration, and lifecycle management of core, edge, and inter-datacenter networks. Review legacy network design, recommend design and technology changes to maintain a high-availability environment over multiple data center locations and consult with sales and operations teams regarding network products.
  • Develop and execute network strategies to enhance scalability, redundancy, and performance.
  • Maintain high availability and security across customer and internal systems.
  • Implement and enforce network compliance with frameworks like SOC 2, ISO 27001, and CIS.
  • Collaborate closely with Cloud Engineering, Security, and Datacenter Operations teams.
  • Manage carrier and vendor relationships, including BGP peering, private interconnects, and DDoS mitigation partners as well as soliciting bids and proposals for network products, evaluating carrier products for resale to customers and reviewing carrier performance.
  • Drive operational excellence through documentation, automation, and proactive monitoring.
  • Establish and enforce network policies regarding hardware/software deployment and maintenance.
  • Lead network team in troubleshooting internal and external network issues, ensure resolution and provide after-action reports internally and to customers when appropriate.
  • Available outside of business hours to provide support (off-site or on-site) for scheduled network maintenance and to respond to network alerts.

Required Skills & Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in network engineering or operations, with 5+ years in leadership.
  • Expertise in routing, switching, firewalls, and load balancing in high-availability environments.
  • Expert level knowledge and experience with multi-platform environments including Juniper, Cisco, Fortinet, and Palo Alto.
  • Solid understanding of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, DNS, DHCP, RSTP, OSPF, Spanning Tree, Storm Contorl and VPN protocols.
  • Familiarity with network automation, observability, and configuration tools (CheckMk, Wazuh, Splunk, Prometheus, etc.).
  • Working understanding of Microsoft, Linux and/or Unix operating systems and familiarity with fibre channel switching architecture (optics, cabling, layers, sequences, exchanges and FC protocols) and cloud network connectivity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills. Experience with writing policy documents and documentation requirements for SOC2, PCI and ISO9000.
  • Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or JNCIP are a strong plus.
  • Proven ability to balance operational stability with innovation and growth.
  • Ability to lift 60 lbs and climb ladders for overhead cabling.
