Frequently Asked Questions About Colocation
The cost of a rack is highly variable as it is mainly based on the content of the cabinet and the ISP services needed. We traditionally look at three factors: Space, Power and Pulse. Liberty offers space in varying increments: 10u, 20u and 42u are the most popular, but if you want to bring your own rack we will do our best to accommodate you. Power is more important than space. Our default power configuration is two redundant power drops, each connected to an independent UPS. Rack densities up to 30 kW are supported in our data center. The standard delivery types are 120v and 208v circuits in 20 amp or 30 amp configurations. We will special order 3-phase circuits and other unique receptacles. Pulse is your lifeline – the Internet connection you need to let the outside world get to your rack. Our standard Internet delivery is a burstable 1 gb/s port but we can also support burstable 10 gb/s deliveries. Contact us know and we will help you with identifying the information you need for an accurate quote.
Colocation customers have their own private entrance to the building which requires a keycard to enter and exit the facility. Keycards are issued to members of your team authorized in advance and in writing. Once inside the building, the keycard is also used to open the entrance to the data center floor “man trap” and then a bio-metric scan is required to access the inner door to the data room. Once you are at your rack, you will need your unique combination to open your secure cabinet. Colocation customer have un-escorted access to the building and data room 24×7, 365 days a year.
