For private circuits, Liberty will extended the carrier’s circuit from their demark to the customer’s rack. This is what is known as a cross-connect. Liberty charges a modest monthly fee to compensate it for the cost of the power and space that the carrier uses to deliver the circuit.
Cross connects can be fiber, coax or CAT-5/6. In all situations, Liberty will deliver the circuit to the rack designated by the customer on the medium selected, In the case of fiber, Liberty has the cables custom made to the exact length to the customer rack with the type of connectors specified. A duplicate spare is manufactured to these specs and kept on file in the case of an unintended fiber cut.
Both fiber duct and inner duct is used to separate fiber from other cabling in the cable tray. Power cords are never co-mingled in the cable tray with communications cabling.
